Young Lions - The Maccabees
My first real tab, feedback would be welcome :D
This is how i play this song using just chords, not lead parts.
However, from this, with a bit of knowledge of scales etc
you can figure out the lead parts.
I might repost later with the lead parts added.
In the quieter parts
D*| x x 0 14 15 14
Bm*| x x 0 16 15 14
The louder more upbeat parts
D| x 5 7 7 7 5
Bm| x 2 4 4 3 2
F#m| 2 4 4 2 2 2
A| 5 7 7 6 5 5
Higher F#m
| x 9 11 11 10 9
D*
Roses in the car
D*
Roses in the car
Bm*
Bony saddle, bony street
Bm*
Corrugated iron sheet
D*
This bed is not concrete
D*
This bed in which you sleep
Bm*
Flesh is flesh til blood runs cold
Bm*
And blood is blood, so I am told
D*, D*, Bm*, Bm*
D*, D*, Bm*, Bm*
D*
Your carbon makes a star
D*
Your carbon makes a star
Bm*
And after all, that's all we are
Bm*
After all, that's all we are
Still play the "Quieter" chords, but more vigorously
D*
That's all we are
D*
That's all we are
Bm*
That's all we are
Bm*
That's all we are
D*
That's all we are
D*
That's all we are
Bm*
That's all we are
Bm*
That's all we are
Now you switch to the ordinary chords for a bit, playing the "Higher" F#m, and
sliding up to it from the Bm.
|D |Bm F#m|
All these young men, these young lions
|D |Bm F#m|
All these young men, these young lions
D*
You don't know if it's true
D*
Or if to believe in you
Bm*
There are tunnels through the stone
Bm*
Where weaker hearts have made a home
D*
Their roses in a car
D*
Their roses in a car
Bm*
And after all that's all we are
Bm*
After all that's all we are
The ordinary F#m is played here instead of the higher one.
And isn't it bizarre
The adults that we are
Still playing
Follow the leader
Body don't break
Body don't break
Body don't break
Til broken
Body gonna make
Body gonna make
Body gonna make
Another body
Wooooo-oooo-ooooaahh, woooah oh
Don't want to be the last to leave.
