Save Me
Dave Matthews
"Some Devil"
Tab by: Mike McDonald
This is my first tab but I am sure it is acurate. I got it off the MTV2 interview.
It's an acustic version so it sounds a little different than the "Some Devil"
version. It's a very weird rythm. I think it's some sort of eigths or something.
He'll hit the bass note and do a rapid studder on the other strings. Sometimes
muted. It's funky, you have to play with it but it's a lot of fun once you get
into it. Riffs 2 and 3 slow to a normal rythm just like the "Some Devil" version.
Standard tuning.
You'll have to listen to pick up the rythm.

Riff 1:
Drivin' through the dessert I met a man
He told me of his crazy plan
He'd been walkin' there for twenty days
He was gonna walk on for twenty more
Said how 'bout a drink or a bite to eat
Said no my faith is all I need
Said then save me save me
Mister walkin' man if you can
You don't need to prove a thing to me
Just give me faith make me believe
Come on save me save me
Mister walkin' man, if you can
Come on save me save me
Mister stranger, if you please
Save me save me..
Riff 2: Emphasis on the bass notes. Dave kind of mutes/muffles the other notes with the beat
stranger... if you... please

Or am I too far gone....
(Riff 1 rythm)
To get back home
To get back home
(Riff 1)
How 'bout you take a ride with me
We could kill some or shoot the breeze
Every whisperin' wind and second counts
Oh maybe if you walk but you should drive around
And save me save me
Mister walkin' man, if you can
Come on save me save me
Mister stranger, if you please
Save me save me..
(Riff 2)
Stranger if you please
Or am I too far gone....
(Riff 1 Rythm)
To get back home
To get back home
Riff 3: There's two ways to play this part. 1: the way Dave plays it and 2: the
way people with normal hands, fingers and joints play it. I'll show both but the
I play it with the second way and it sounds fine.
Dave's way:

(Riff 3)
I don't need you to stop the sunshine
I ain't askin' you to make water into wine
I ain't askin' you to fly
(Riff 4 starts on "me" and "you" on the same beat)
I'm just askin' you to save me
Riff 4:
You might try savin' yourself
Why don't you save me
You might try savin' yourself
As if the moon could
Shine, try savin' yourself
I saw tears down...
There, try savin' yourself
Why don't you save me, yeah
Hope you enjoy it, comments please!
