Great song by underrated Rockabilly pioneer Dale Hawkins,
known for being the father of Swamp Rock (Suzie Q), and for
playing real raw Rockabilly. This however is a sweeter Pop
song, it's great, it's played very much like Ritchie Valens'
"Come on, Let's Go", and the background singers borrow from
Buddy Holly's "I'm Gonna Love You Too".

This is only the third song I'm learning by ear, so I can't say
that this is the way it goes 100%, but it feels good when I play
it, and I have re-written it a couple of times. The thing I'm
most unsure of is the lyrics after you sing about his girlfriend
with the shape of a balloon, it's hard to hear what he sings there.

Please come with suggestions/critique or whatever, and rate it if
you want to!

Enjoy! :)

Intro: A D E, A D E, A D E, A D E
High school board
They said he was-a bad
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
He had a knack of getting
All the teachers mad
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
He got his kicks from
Cutting class every day
When he heard the bell ring
He'd run the other way-hay-hay-hay-hay
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he, yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he-he, he-he-he-he-he
He had a girlfriend in
The shape of a balloon
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
The fellas all asked him why
You go with such a goon
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
He laughed and telled his friends
So I don't have to be on guard
Cause pap(?) was always happy
With that big tub of lard, lard, lard, lard
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he, yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he-he, he-he-he-he-he
[Sax solo] A D E, A D E, A D E, A D E D A E
Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah,
When he heard the bell ring
He'd run the other way-hay-hay-hay
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he, yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he-he, he-he-he-he-he
He didn't do his homework
He never passed a test
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Lunch was the class
That he loved the best
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
They caught him sleeping
In the boiler room
The principal hit him
On the head with a broom, broom, broom
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he, yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he-he, he-he-he-he-he
He thought he was cool
But he was only a fool
Cause they kicked that
Cool cat out of school
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he, yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he
Yeah, yeah, yeah-eh-he-he-he, he-he-he-he-he (fade out)
