Вступление
Da Yoopers are a band from Ishpeming, Michigan. They are known mostly for their novelty songs
about hunting, fishing, drinking, the battle of the sexes and life in the U.P. (Michigan's Upper Pennisula).
Yooper is an affectionate name for the hardy people that live in the U.P.
But this song appeared on only one album of theirs, Yoopy Do Wah (1991, You Guys records). It is very much
out of character with the rest of their music. Those of you who have had the experience of losing a spouse
can identify with this song. Transcription, words and music is my interpretation, although I must give
credit to Jim "Hoolie" De Caire and Da Yoopers for creating the song in the first place. They said the
song was sort-of an experiment that didn't quite work as planned, but it was a nice song so they put it
on the album. I feel it is much more important than that.
Another morning has come and gone
Another first cup, all alone
Across the table, a lonely chair, no sleepy eyes
That's the way one lives
When one love dies
Find comfort in familiar places
Loneliness and strange embraces
But it's not making love, it's just getting by
No one fills the empty space
They come and go without a trace.
That's the way one lives
When one love dies
Instrumental Interlude
Live on habits, live on dreams
Lonely nights and old love scenes
Keep on living, not to win, but just survive
That's the way one lives
When one love dies
That's the way one lives
When one love dies
