Song - Sister I'm A Poet
Artist - Colin Meloy
Album - Colin Meloy Sings Morrisey
Standard Tuning - EADGBE
This is a nice song to play, with not a lot of chords
but the chords do change fast. Large
spaces between chords where there
are no lyrics indicate they go on
for longer! barre chords do
sound tighter, but open chords sound just fine
as well. Enjoy :)

And all over this town
A slow wind may blow
And I can see through everybody's clothes
With no reason to hide these words I feel
And no reason to talk about the books I read
But still I do
That's cause I'm a...
Sister I'm a...
All over this town
Along the way outside the prison gates
I love the romance of crime
And I wonder
Does anybody feel the same way I do?
And is evil just something you are
Or something you do?
But now I'm a...
Sister I'm a...
All over this town
And all over this town
They pull over in their Citroen vans
Not to shake your hand
With meths on their breaths
And you with youth on your side
A plastic bag stranded at the light
This once was me...
But now I'm a...
Sister I'm a...
All over this town
Oh, all over this town
All over this town
All over this town
Oh...

Here's a little variation you
can add to the E major chord of the
main riff that's followed
by the quick G chord, then
A chord.
e|-0------0-0---
b|-0------0-0---
G|-1--0h1-1-1---
D|-2--2---2-2---
A|-2------2-2---
E|-0------0-0---
in short, quickly strum the first E
chord, lift off your pointer finger
that should have been on the 1st fret
of the G string so it is now open,
then pluck the D string, with
your middle finger still on the 2nd
fret from the chord, then hammer back
onto the 1st fret of the G string
with your pointer finger, then 2
very quick strums of the E major
chord, it sounds great when
it's pulled off :)
